Hewlett Packard, A Case Study
The Rouse Companies conducted and developed a series
of financial education pilot programs for Hewlett-Packard.
As a result of the pilot programs' success, financial
education programs were offered to employees of all
ages and income levels throughout the U.S. To date,
approximately 15,000 Hewlett-Packard employees have
participated in the program developed by The Rouse Companies.
This page details the program, its results, and comments
from participants on all levels. This information is
from a report prepared by Hewlett-Packard, and is used
with their permission.

The Survey
These survey results are from a cross-section of 250
employees who participated in a pilot program in Colorado.
The Program
The program, developed over a two-year period with
employee input, features an eight-hour workshop with
customized software provided to each participant. Designed
and delivered by The Rouse Companies, the workshop is
intended to help employees incorporate the full range
of HP benefits into their individual financial plan.
|
The Workshop
The workshop teaches goal-setting techniques and planning
principles that help employees take ownership of their
financial future. The process integrates the role that
HP benefits can play in achieving long-term financial
independence.
The Software
The LifeFocus financial planning software projects future
benefits from HP's plans, together with the employee's
other asset and income sources, and compares these resources
to projected needs.
